Veneers

Your smile is one of the first things people will notice about you, so why settle for a smile that doesn’t feel like your own? Known for their versatile uses in cosmetic dentistry, dental veneers are a popular resource for patients looking to make small changes in the size, shape and appearance of their teeth. Are you curious about improving your smile? Talk with our staff at (858) 484-4880 to schedule a consultation.

Get To Know The Advantages of Veneers

Dental veneers have been used for decades to transform smiles using minimally invasive treatment. Because they are relatively simple to place and can last up to decades with proper care, many patients enjoy veneers for their satisfying, long-lasting results and benefits.

What Are Veneers?

Veneers are natural looking, wafer-thin shells of porcelain that fit easily over the surface of the teeth to improve the shape, size or color of each tooth. These versatile dental solutions are commonly used for the following reasons:

  • Restore a misshapen or broken tooth
  • Fills gaps between teeth for a more straightened appearance
  • Can be used as a more permanent form of teeth whitening
  • Repairs discolorations or permanently stained teeth
  • Restores a tooth worn from teeth grinding or bruxism

Because no patient is the same, veneers may be used to provide various types of cosmetic improvements for each smile. From Hollywood smiles ready to walk the red carpet to repairing a chipped tooth before Picture Day, we’ll help you achieve the look you desire with results you can rely on.

How Are Veneers Applied?

The entire veneers process requires as little as one or two appointments on average. When you first come in we will perform a comprehensive dental exam to review your oral health and discuss your medical history. The veneers process requires the use of little or no anesthesia before removing a thin layer of enamel to make room for the new veneer. This is generally a painless process and is followed with making an impression of the teeth. After choosing the optimal color, shape and size of the new veneer it is crafted, adjusted and polished before being secured into place.

What Can I Expect After Veneers?

After veneers, patients with a good dental hygiene routine can expect for their veneers to last anywhere from 7 to 20 years on average. Although veneers are strong, it is important not to use your teeth as “tools” to bite into hard foods such as sticky caramel apples or man-made objects. After veneers, patients are recommended to brush and floss regularly and come in every six months as they normally would for a regular checkup.
