Your smile is an outward expression of joy, and if you feel self-conscious about your teeth, even a simple grin can be a stressful ordeal. Here are a few ways our team can help give you a proud smile and a much more enjoyable National Selfie Day:
Taking A Selfie? Make Sure Your Smile Looks Its Best!
- Teeth whitening – If your teeth are stained from drinking coffee, wine or tea, we can help with clinical-grade whitening treatments that reverse yellowing and leave you with a brilliant smile.
- Dental bonding – Dental bonding can be used to repair minor chips and gaps in your smile, and the treatment is completely non-invasive.
- Porcelain veneers – Veneers are a great way to cover up stained, gapped, misshapen, or even slightly-crooked teeth. In just two appointments, you can completely restore your smile with veneers from Carmel Mountain Dental Care.
- Invisalign – With Invisalign, you can correct gapped and crooked teeth in under a year, using invisible, plastic aligners! This nearly invisible treatment will gently shift your teeth into proper positon, and you can smile with confidence throughout your procedure!
A Brief History Of The Selfie
Selfies may seem like a relatively new phenomenon, but they are actually as old as photography! The first known “selfie” was taken by Robert Cornelius, a photography enthusiast amateur chemist, in 1839. He set up his camera, took off the lens cap, then ran into frame and sat down for a minute to capture his self-portrait. However, selfies didn’t rise to their current state until the advent of digital photography and cell phone cameras. Once camera phones became more common in the mid-2000s, so did selfies! The Oxford English Dictionary named “Selfie” the word of the year in 2013, and National Selfie Day was established in 2014. Today, it’s estimated that more than 93 million selfies are taken each day!
